Tom Selleck, or Whatever

I might be missing a joke, or an ironic gesture, and my intent here isn’t to imply a negative about those involved, but I got a kick out of this because, well, for one, the photo is quintessential seventies. They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore, and, for two, if you’re calling yourself Tom Selleck then a photo of Burt Reynolds seems to miss the mark to me. Nonetheless, it is a great photo (probably need to visit the site for full appreciation), speaking solely as a purveyor of fine seventies nostalgia.

I contacted the person behind this twitter page the very first they he introduced the mistaken background: but apparently he ignored my message. But hey, it’s the eighties, right? (Great themes by the way!)

I mean it is a great photo so maybe he doesn’t care, or figures people might assume there’s some joke involved that they’re missing. Nice of you to shoot the guy a note though. I know I appreciate it when people point out to me these sorta miscues… And thanks for the nice word about the themes. Appreciate that.

Nice Kristen. It is huh? I kinda get into the total seventies schmuck of it, but it’s one of those photos you don’t really want to try to explain the appeal you know? Hope you’re kickin’ some ass out there on the West Coast.
