Time Out and Refocus

So I’ll be taking a quick one week break from blogging here. The duration is short enough that you might be thinking, “who the fuck cares.” Indeed, the only reason I mention it is because the break is a self-imposed exile to help me refocus on my writing.

I’ve been something of a fat log recently in regards to my writing, as in I’ve done none. I’ve come to the conclusion the only way I can maintain a blog is if I use it to augment my creative writing. Otherwise this place becomes the primary vehicle for my compulsive procrastination.

This means when I return the content will tend towards original snippets of creative writing. I’m not interested in folding in long pieces of fiction, just the brief made-up crap that falls outta my brain constantly, much of which gets jotted down into my notebooks but left to die. So that stuff will be appearing here after the break. It’s all fairly quick, silly, and pointless.

In some sense not much will change. I’ve always published whatever happens to interest me anyway. It’s not like TechCrunch suddenly deciding to publish articles about Victorian poetry. You know, if you enjoyed my writing before then suppose that won’t change.

What will, I’m thinking, is consistency and focus. I want to publish something once a day, Monday through Friday. Kinda fold the blog into a writing schedule, use it instead of it using me. Anyway, all this requires some thought and deliberation, thus the mini-break. The link-posts may continue to trickle in as I’ll continue to bookmark stuff and all that gets pulled in here by magic.

So there it is. A note that I’ll be refocusing and rearranging for a week.
