Thoughts on Doomsday

So I went and caught the flick Doomsday yesterday. It was either that or The Bank Job, and the truth is I wanted to watch the kick-ass chick kick some ass. It was a primitive decision I’m proud of.

Anyway, here’s all you need to know about the film. Some guy thought to himself

“Man, wouldn’t it be sweet if you were watching Mad Max, but, like, the bad guys were cannibals, and, like, half-way through the movie it turned into Excalibur?”

If you answered that question with an empathic “Fuck Yeah. That’s Sweet,” then you’ll love the movie. If the question confuses you, or you think “I’d rather watch Joan Rivers mate with a Hippo,” then you’ll hate the film.

Either way it’s not a very good film, which may seem inconsistent. How can you love a movie that isn’t very good right? If you grew up in the eighties as I did then the question answers itself and is not inconsistent at all. If you didn’t grow up in the eighties then you can simply cast a brutally honest eye to your own life and notice all the crap you love that is undeniably lame.

Lay down whatever is on your mind, in whatever way you want. All I ask is you don't be an ass. Wit, humorous snark, and forceful debate are welcome. Doucebaggery will be deleted, or edited to make you look the idiot.
