The Hunsecker WordPress Theme
Update (4.13.08): Now at version 1.1. I added support for WordPress 2.5 gravatars, and clean up some shit. Let me know if/when you run into bugs.
I stuck a version of the Hunsecker Theme I was using prior to this one into a zip file. It’s now available for download on the loot page, or at the bottom of this post. I have a strong aversion to writing about these things after I’ve finished them, but Hunsecker is a simple fellow so there isn’t much to him. I’ll assume most folks know how to install themes at this point so that covers that. Inside the folder you’ll also find a couple plugins which you can install and use with Hunsecker, or not. Your call.
Hunsecker should validate. A lot depends on the state of your current content, but it’ll validate with a clean install. The CSS code will not however because I used text-shadow and opacity properties. The themes got microformats rolling around inside its guts if you’re into that sort of thing.
I’ve tested the theme on my Mac with the most recent versions of OmniWeb, Flock, Firefox, Camino, Opera, Safari, and WebKit. Doesn’t appear to freak out on any of them. I tossed it into the clutches of IE Net Render, and to my surprise it does fine in IE 7. IE 6, which should just die an undignified death at this point, causes some minor issues. Please note though that I really haven’t done any extensive testing with the theme on IE.
So that’s kinda it. My deal with themes kinda dovetails with my own use of them. I hack. I slash. I explore and experiment. So I offer them up to the public with the same spirit. You know, get in there and screw around. With that said, I’m more than happy to answer any questions, field any bugs, or listen to any requests. So let fly if you’ve got them.
