The Difference Between Republican and Democratic Attacks
Michael Tomasky shares the difference between Republican and Democrat attack strategies.
When Republicans imagine attacks, they think in terms of character; when Democrats imagine attacks, they think in terms of policy and record. Read that again. It’s the key to presidential campaigns.
Or Republicans are willing to smear your good name in a thick coat of shit and vomit, while Democrats, not so much. In relation to winning public office, these strategies have nothing to do with ethical considerations, or, in the words of the intractable Al Davis, “Just Win Baby.”
Doesn’t much matter how. Just win baby. Better to be a slime slinging winner than an honorable loser, or so it goes.
