Presupposing Republican Spin

Interesting quote in a New York Times article about Obama’s economic thinking. This from James Heckman, a Nobel laureate, who was asked to critique Obama’s education policy:

I’ve never worked with a campaign that was more interested in what the research shows.

Fancy that someone who’s interested in research and science? But, of course, what this really tells us about Obama is he doesn’t have a spine. When the hammer falls he props himself up with the opinions and thoughts of other people. Don’t we deserve a President who has the vision and strength of character to rely on his own council? Who’ll face adversity standing tall as his own man, and not rely on some eggheads to tell him what to do?
