Why Bother?
Oops, I forgot
to call my boss.
I made a list,
a color coded list.
I stapled it to my forehead,
with contexts
and actions
and little butterfly stickers
that smelled of oil.
I stapled it to my forehead,
centered by rule,
but I forgot
the redundancies
of duct tape and
glue.
So it's fallen off,
sometime between lunch
- @12:30 at Milo's Bistro -
and the Oglethorpe meeting
- @3:30 on Floor 12, third door to the right -
it's fallen off,
naturally,
staples have failings,
and I forgot
to call my boss.

Damn that is a good one.
“I stapled it to my forhead” LOL
Griffin you bother because you are a writer that has a humorous edge.

Thanks Jessica. You know I try so hard to be organized. I’ve dipped my toe in all that GTD stuff. It never sticks. I’m a mess and do better when I let myself be a mess. For me, organization can end up being unproductive. I need to let it all fall apart. I see things more clearly when I’m random and haphazard. So that’s where that poem came from, finding all the energy it takes to stay organized a humorous waste of time, for me.

Nice Jessica :). I particularly like the Griffin Try Dammit. It’s exactly what my head screams at me when I let life play loose. Thanks for starting my morning off with a hearty chuckle.
