A Word of Warning

I’m currently hacking the hell out of this site. Why? If I had that answer then I’d be doing it a lot better. Basically I’m stripping it bare and heading towards a sparse look. You know, designing works best when you are clear about your goals, and your style of content. (( It also helps to be good at it, but this is a painful avenue for me to walk down)) Poetry probably shouldn’t look and feel the same as a long essay. In any event, and avoiding my penchant for existentializing things that are best left practical, this site will be changing quicker than Play-Doh in a five year olds hands. (( Existentializing is probably not a proper word. I understand that, and choose to use it anyway))

This will probably not bother you much, or you may find it infuriating, perhaps it’s endearing, but whatever your thoughts don’t hesitate to let me know them. Sometimes it’s good to have someone take the keys away from you. This will be my last hack-a-thon for six months. I’ve set up a challenge for myself at 43Things because public humiliation, and eating olives, is a good motivator. You can see my challenge at this link. I’ve given myself until then end of this month to finish up, and afterwards it’s hands off for six months. Tweaking can become a compulsive obsession with me, and detracts from other pursuits so it’ll be good to eliminate the habit for a spell. (( Other pursuits being writing, and viewing the world from a standing position.))

I’ll keep throwing around words during this renovation so if you gather my writing in the comfort of your RSS reader then you’re safe within your bunker. My flippant regard for code won’t effect you any. (( Unless I set off a time bomb and destroy the site completely, which is a possibility given my cavalier attitude towards moving code around)). If you amble by this humble abode from time to time then chances are you’ll either miss this post entirely, or wonder why I can’t stand still.

I don’t really like writing about changes in the look of the site, but in this case, because it’s going to be chaotic for awhile it seemed prudent to mention it. That is all about this topic I suppose.

UPDATE: Okay so I was a month or so off, but this is it until May.
